Formerly known in their more expansive line-up as d_rradio, founding members Chris Tate and Paul Christian Patterson return to their original moniker, deathrowradio for their newest release, Yummy.
Notoriously diverse in their genre hopping, this time the duo have left behind the electro sounds and orchestral drone of previous output and returned to rock n roll fundamentals; live drums and guitars. Still present is the hypnotic and psychedelic pulse of their sound, this time coming in the form of repetitive punk drumming and delay drenched guitar hooks. Chugging and pounding along through just under 40 minutes, Yummy takes its cues as much from 60's garage rock as it does 70's glam, 80's skate punk and 90's techno.
The result is yet another unique way for deathrowradio to present their immersive and emotive sound. Less polished, more raucous and not a laptop in sight, Yummy marks the band's 10 year birthday with a bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.
